How To Sell Honey At A Local Farmer's Market
Whether your honey business is a side hustle or your family's main income, the idea of selling your sweet product at a farmer's market may feel daunting at first. If it does, we are here to help you with answers to these common questions.
How do you market yourself? How do you stand out in the crowd? How do you get repeat customers?
First and foremost, you need to think about your honey jar label. You need your logo clearly shown on the front. You also need to have a back label that has all of the important details such as:
- The amount of honey in the jar
- The flavor of honey
- Any other nutritional or consumer information required by law
- Your website and social media accounts
- A hashtag that is created just for your company that your customers can tag you with
Another idea is to place a label on top of the jar, for use as a lid label (see below). It's an extra detail that may help your farmer's market booth stand out.
Label Supplies
We have a variety of different sized and shaped labels for your honey jars. For this type of product (as well as other foodstuffs like jam and jelly), we recommend using weatherproof labels. The ink won't smear if water comes in contact with it.
Label Templates
You can upload your logo into Maestro Label Designer and create your personalised labels within minutes. Then you can print out your labels using your home inkjet printer.
Pro tip: When branding your jars, make sure your labels are consistent with each other (i.e. that you use the same font and clipart). When your branding is done well, you'll stand out amongst your competition and your customers will remember you.
