If your image or file is a JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, or PDF, you can import it using the "+Upload New Image" button under the "Images" tab in the vertical toolbar to the left of the screen. Hit the "Upload New Image" button and browse to where your image is saved on your computer. Select the image and click "Upload." This will add your image to Maestro Label Designer.

To add the image to your design, click on the thumbnail preview. Your image will be automatically added to your label design.

Activation codes give users access to the full version of Maestro Label Designer. Without them, users can complete the same tasks, but will see a watermark across their labels when printing.

Clicking "Open directly from your browser" will open a PDF of your design in a new window. If you have a pop-up blocker enabled, it will stop your computer from opening your design. Find out how to turn off your pop-up blocker or select the "Download and Print" option instead (recommended).

Maestro Label Designer is available for free to all users. However, without an activation code, users will see a watermark across their labels when printing at home. Purchasing an activation code will remove the watermark from your designs.

Yes, Maestro Label Designer will run on your Mac. When it comes to printing, Apple's Preview program has limited scaling options. We highly recommend downloading Adobe Reader for best results.

Your designs will be saved in Maestro Label Designer, regardless of your activation status. However, you will see a watermark across your labels if you plan to print them at home.

Maestro Label Designer can support .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, and .pdf file formats. To ensure the best possible print quality, we recommend that all artwork be submitted with a resolution of 300 dpi or greater.

Click on your image to select it. Find any of the white boxes around the edges of your picture and pull them in or out to create your desired size. Be cautious when making your image bigger, you don't want it to lose resolution.

Note: By default, your image will scale proportionally. If you want to stretch or shrink your image independent of its aspect ratio, hold down the shift key while dragging the white boxes.

Click on your object to select it. Once the white boxes appear around the edges of your object, press the "Delete" button on your keyboard or right-click and select "Delete Objects."

You must have a working Internet connection to use Maestro Label Designer. However, you can preemptively save a PDF of your design to your computer for offline viewing.

To save a design as a PDF, hover over "File" in the blue navigation bar. Choose "Export," then "Full Sheet." Your design will automatically download.

Note: You can't re-upload your full-sheet design to Maestro Label Designer.

Click "Saved Designs" in the vertical toolbar to the left of the Maestro Label Designer home screen. You will be automatically redirected to "All Designs" within the "Saved Designs" page. From there, you can create, edit, and delete folders as well as move, rename, and delete designs.

Papers can shift during the printing process. In addition, some programs and browsers scale documents during printing. To fix it, try the following solutions:

• Try stacking your sheets neatly and evenly in the printer tray.
• In the printer dialog box that comes up when you hit print, look for "Page Scaling" and/or "Rotate and Center." You want both options to be turned off. For best results, use Adobe Reader.
• Run the Alignment Wizard in Maestro Label Designer. It will detect printer shifts and adjust your design automatically. Read the step-by-step instructions.
• Add a bleed to your designs to help minimize the impact of shifting. Learn more about bleeds in Maestro Label Designer.

You must install Adobe Flash Player to access additional font options in Maestro Label Designer. Once Adobe Flash Player is installed, restart Maestro Label Designer. Any fonts currently installed on your computer should appear below the preset fonts in the "Font Family" dropdown.

If you are downloading new fonts to your computer, follow these instructions then repeat the directions above.

In some instances, PDF viewers can't process certain fonts or images. When this happens, the PDF viewer may add squares around your design or lines through it. You can eliminate this issue by telling your PDF viewer that your document is an image. Here's how:

In Adobe Reader (our recommended PDF viewer), hit print. Click "Advanced" toward the top. Check the box for "Print As Image."

Every printer on the market has a fixed, maximum printable area where the ink or toner stops. That space is called the "non-printable margin."

If your label configuration extends to the edge of your sheet or close to it, we recommend figuring out your non-printable margins. To determine what your printer's non-printable margins are, you can look to your printer's instruction manual or use our printer margin tool. Print the document and measure the 1" line in step 2. If the line is not an accurate inch, return to the print dialog box and select the "Fit to Page" or "Print Actual Size" option. Setting the "Custom Scale" option to 100% will produce the same results. Print the document again and remeasure. Once you're sure it's printing to scale, start from the edge of the paper and work your way in until you find the first full box, each box is 30mm wide. The numbers next to the first full box are your non-printable margins.

Use those measurements to adjust your label design. If you're using Maestro Label Designer, hover over the "Print" menu and click "Page Setup." From there, you can adjust your settings to fit within your printable dimensions.

A "bleed" is when you allow your design to transcend the dimensions of the "finished product." Bleeds ensure that once label paper is cut or a label is peeled up from its liner that your desired color reaches the edge of the label and you don't have any unprinted edges. Bleeds also account for any shifting that occurs throughout the printing process.

We suggest adding a bleed of at least 3.175mm or 1.5875mm to your design. This will account for the slight movement that can occur during the printing process.
